Unless noted, all classes and programs we offer are free to attend!  So that we have the necessary space, we sometime ask people to register for our programs.

Some of our programs are offered on a regular basis throughout the year.  Other programs are offered on a rotational and as needed/requested basis.  Please see our calendar for a schedule of what we currently offer, or call the Centre for information.

Book Buddies at the Boyne Regional Library

We are partnering with Boyne Regional Library who will be hosting this program in the children’s area.

Book Buddies is a weekly drop-in program for preschool children (aged 0-5) with their parents or caregivers.

Each program will include songs and rhymes, story time, book sharing, and a game; there will also be a take home craft and snack for children aged 2 and over.

Book Buddies will be held on Thursdays
10:30 – 11:30am at the Boyne Regional Library.

This program is free to attend, and all supplies are provided.

Registration is not required!

Just come by the library for the 10:30 am start time to join in!

Grand Pals

GRAND PALS – Inter-generational  program with the residents of Boyne Towers and Boyne Lodge!  

There are so many benefits to intergenerational programs, both for children and seniors,  including promoting understanding and respect while sharing ideas and experiences.  

Wiggle, Giggle & Munch

Join our trained facilitators for songs, games, and activities to
develop movement skills, as well as a snack and craft at each session.

The Wiggle, Giggle & Munch program is for preschool children aged 2-5 (we will have child minding available in the hall
for little ones who are not able to join in the fun.)

** Please bring along indoor shoes for all adults and children! **

This program is free to attend, but registration is required.

Please be sure to include the names and ages of all the children who will be coming along with you!

Little Hands in the Kitchen

Little Hands in the Kitchen introduces young children to the kitchen and provides recipes and ingredients for simple meals and snacks that parents and children prepare together!

Little Hands in the Kitchen is for parents and caregivers with their child aged 3 – 5 years (one-on-one fun!)

Please note: there will be no child care available for younger siblings at this time; please find alternate care.

But… if you have two children in the age range, you can cook with both.

There is no cost to attend, and all supplies are provided. But space is limited, and registration is required.

Alphabet Soup

 

Alphabet Soup is a 6-week program parent-child program  with a focus on literacy and food! 

Take 1 group of parents & children,

Add a generous helping of songs, rhymes & books, Mix together a healthy snack,

Blend in fun, food-themed crafts, Sprinkle with smiles…and ENJOY!

 

Kit and Kaboodle

Always a favorite program, Kit & Kaboodle includes songs and rhymes, story time. 

and book sharing, with a craft and snack at each session, and a bit of time to play!

 This program will be held at the Centre. 

Rock and Read

Rock & Read is a popular parent-child program that offers parents and their children a hands-on experience in learning nursery rhymes, lullabies, finger plays and book sharing.  Then, parents learn book-making techniques as they create a book for their child!

All materials are supplied for participants, and childcare is also provided. There is no cost to attend, however class size is limited.  Please call the Centre to register.

Shake, Rattle and Roll
(suggested for ages 2 through 5 years)

Shake, Rattle & Roll is a favorite with all participants year after year!  This parent-child physical activity program guaranteed to get you moving!  Parents and their children, aged 2 to 5 years, will run, jump, bounce balls, and have fun while developing skills and active lifestyle habits.

Shake, Rattle and Roll typically runs for 9 weeks, and is generally offered in the winter months.

All equipment is provided, but indoor shoes or slippers are needed.

Childcare is available for children too young to participate.

Registration is required for this free program as space is limited
